What artists do you listen to most?
A
Lately: Tallest Man on Earth, Doug Paisley, Sharon Van Etten.
We'd usually have more to list for you, but we have been in music hibernation mode for a while, during the finishing of our album. Now it's time to listen to new things again. You have any to recommend?
A
Hi. thank you! I'll tell our publicist to send them the album. I really hope we can tour australia this album. that would be amazing.
A
Hopefully sometime soon. Right now our tour dates are only the ones up on bowerbirds.org Maybe we are coming sort of close to where you live, not too far to drive?
Are you more happy singing or composing...?
A
That's a hard question. It depends how well the song is going when composing, or how well the show is going when playing live. But when either one is going well, it's the best feeling in the world. Time drops away and it's just connecting with the room and the music and the people who are there.
Composing is a very personal time, whereas the live shows involve the energy of all these amazing people, and that makes us feel a lot of love.
When will you come to Chicago??
A
tour dates on our website! bowerbirds.org we are playing chicago!
Play in Raleigh for under 21!!!
A
good idea. we played saxapahaw recently for under 21, but i guess a lot of under 21s can't drive or don't have cars? what about the cat's cradle?
A
there's a secret I can't yet tell you, but keep your eye out... you'll be pleased.
A
That would be so much fun. We loved doing that. Contact our manager! ami spishock
A
That would be incredible. I don't know how we could afford to do it. Maybe you can tell someone who has a festival to bring us? Festivals pay well enough that we might be able to pay for the plane tickets. Brazil is an amazing place.
Is there a Vancouver date on the horizon?
A
We were totally trying to fit Vancouver into this tour, but the way the availability of venues worked, was that we'd have to skip a night of sleep on tour to make that happen, which makes for a terrible show and a grumpy band. We LOVE Vancouver and would normally never miss it. If we sell out Seattle this time, maybe we can come back to Vancouver on the next tour? Maybe you can come to Seattle? Bring friends and make it a party trip?
